Our Family of Schools

The Sovereign Trust is at the very forefront of special needs education. We are a family of schools that places children at the core of all we do.

By being part of an Trust and working together, each school, every child and their family benefit from an enhanced range of provision, services and support including:

  • Skilled and experienced staff
  • High quality facilities and resources across our schools
  • Co-ordinated family services including after-school and holiday clubs
  • Access to a large team of creative and physical therapists

We currently have 3 schools in our Trust, each offering bespoke education for groups of children with different needs:

The aims of the Trust are to ensure our pupils become successful individuals, confident citizens and responsible individuals and meet the challenges society provides.’

Manor Academy is committed to equality of opportunity and to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

New Park School is a specialist provision for pupils aged 7-16 who have been assessed as having social, emotional and/or mental health difficulties, often linked to other issues such as specific and/or moderate learning or communication difficulties.

Pictor Academy caters for children aged 2 – 11 with special educational needs arising from a range of conditions. A large number of pupils have an autistic spectrum disorder. This means that they have difficulties communicating and interacting with others. They will also have difficulties with play and imagination. Some of our pupils have physical difficulties whilst others may have a language disorder or have a general developmental delay.

Our Education Principles

Although the curriculum and teaching styles vary to meet the individual needs of each learner, all Eden Academy Trust schools follow the same guiding principles:

  • Our curriculum is designed to ensure a breadth and balance of learning takes place
  • All staff have high expectations of pupils’ abilities
  • Our parents & carers are integral partners in education
  • All pupils require a personalised education plan
  • Lesson plans are developed to suit pupils’ learning ability, their age, and the session’s content
  • Teaching styles vary to meet pupils’ preferred way of learning (incl. play, structured sessions, practical tasks)
  • Therapy programmes are integrated into our classrooms
  • Careful monitoring of achievement encourages pupils to achieve their personal best

The Sovereign Trust will be a centre of excellence for learning and development for pupils, parents and staff
